Socially Distanced (But Still Fun!) Outdoor Adventure Activities

16th July 2020

We’re open! After a very tough few months of anxiously waiting for news, we’re delighted that we are now able to reopen and offer our outdoor adventure activities once again. Of course, things are going to be different. We’re starting small with just two activities available and of course limiting numbers, we have new procedures in place and we hope that you will feel reassured that you can still come and have some fun whilst staying protected.

We’re also proud to announce that we are ‘Good To Go’ having received official certification from Visit Britain to show that we have worked hard to follow government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and have processes in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing. We carry out our activities both in England and Wales and this certificate is recognised throughout the UK so we’re thrilled to receive it and for our hard work to be acknowledged.

What have we been up to during lockdown?

As a family, we’ve been making do with our local countryside and keeping active with walks and bike rides. Once some travel restrictions were lifted in May we ventured back out onto the River Wye and into the cliffs, and really enjoyed getting onto our paddleboards as a family once again and reminding ourselves how beautiful the Wye Valley is (it really is!). Being such an active family we feel luckier than ever to live in such a rural area with so much space to enjoy.

We know that more than ever people are going to be desperate to get out into the countryside for some rest and relaxation. Our area is ideal as there is so much outdoor space, so many things to see and do and our accommodation providers have also been working hard to welcome guests back safely and warmly.

So what outdoor activities are available this summer?

We’re offering stand-up paddleboarding, rock climbing, and a ‘Rock & SUP’ adventure day that combines both to make a full day out in the gorgeous Wye Valley.

Our rock climbing sessions take place at Symonds Yat, one of the most picturesque spots in the Wye Valley and you’ll get to see it from the riverside and from the tops of the cliffs (lucky you)! Our SUP sessions take place in nearby Monmouth and the combined day offers a chance to see some of the most iconic views of the River Wye both from the river itself and the cliffs.

These activities are great for everyone to try and ideal for mixed ages and abilities. Smaller groups will also mean more time with our expert tutors so more value for your money!

Our activities all take place in stunning rural settings, with nature all around and make for a great day out in the Wye Valley. You could bring a picnic and sit next to the river after your activities or pop to one of the local pubs which have some gorgeous beer gardens.

Day trips are also doable from surrounding cities with Gloucester, Cheltenham, Hereford, Bristol, Birmingham, Newport and Cardiff all within around an hour’s drive.

So why not try something new this summer and make the most of the great outdoors? Make this the summer for an outdoor adventure to remember!

We’re hoping to start other activities as summer goes on so watch this space.
